I should have check the bags a little bit more closely! These bags come with frozen fruit and a "smoothie packet." I assumed that the packet just contained yogurt... and it does, but the first ingredient is sugar! I don't need anymore sugar in my smoothies, fruit is sweet enough!
I will grab some plain bags of frozen fruit the next time I'm at the grocery store. All I do is put in some non-fat yogurt and fruit into a blender, and I'm good to go. If the smoothie is a bit thick, I add water or orange juice to thin it out. Tomorrow I think I'll have a blueberry smoothie, hold the "smoothie packet." :)

Smoothie of the day: banana, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, yogurt... and added sugar /:
That looks really good, we just bought the Jamba Juice version of this, I think I'll go make it!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have Jamba Juice where I live, but I'll look for the freezer bags and check out their ingredients :)
DeleteI don't know where you are from but there is a company in Switzerland that produces frozen smoothies blocks. They just got started and I have to say, I have not had anything in terms of Smoothies that is that good. They are complete drinks, without added conservatives or sugar (mostly, there is one that I know has a teaspoon of Sugar in it). Amazing, they also have a great Açai Smoothie. Just add a bit of water and blend. Sooooo great. Check out 'www.DaisyBev.com' and facebook, 'Smoothies by Daisy' :))))) yummmmm.
DeleteI've got lots of lunch boxes in my freezer filled with frozen fruits (chopped bananas, berries, mangoes, etc.). Then use this handheld blender straight with the glass/cup I'll be drinking the smoothie for. So it's really convenient. :) I keep a couple of organic green powder and mixed berry powder in the cupboard for that emergency extra boost whenever I forget to buy enough real fruits/veggies.
ReplyDeleteThat does sound convenient! I use a blender called the Magic Bullet so I can drink out the cup I used to blend :) Do you chop up your own fruit and freeze it or buy it pre-frozen?
