To clean out drains, first pour about a cup of baking soda down the drain. The follow with the same amount of vinegar. Stop the drain. Wait for a few minutes (some sources said up to half an hour, but I was too impatient) and then open the drain, and pour in a bunch of hot water (I boiled a kettle full of water).
Worked like a charm. :)
I shall have to give this a try next time the bath drain gets blocked, I normally use soda crystals but it didn't very well the last time.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to let me know if it works for you :)
DeleteI use a similar recipe, but with 1 part salt to 2 parts baking soda, and then the vinegar and boiling water. It works really well :)
ReplyDeleteI'll keep your recipe in mind if I encounter a really stubborn blockage :)
DeleteThis is genius! I'll be "pinning" it :)
ReplyDeleteTried this but it's not a miracle de-clogger. It's ok for minor blockages caused by oils and sludge. But I love watching the drain bubble once I mix the vinegar with the baking soda, lol!
ReplyDeleteIt IS fun :) Yes, I don't think it would work on a hair clog, but it's fine for basic blockages
